Links
Below is a listing of links in which I feel are worthwhile to mention and they will help you learn to play the guitar, become a better Graphic Designer and allow you to have some fun doing something new. If you think your web site should be listed here, I would be interested in hearing from you to discuss things further.
Guitar Links
- Calgary Acoustic Music Jam (CAMJAM) - A local free Meetup.com user group whose goal is to get intermediate and advanced musicians together to enjoy and play music in the City of Calgary and Southern Alberta. Whether it is to simply jam or get together to see live music in the City, all are welcome. Beginner guitar players are encouraged to have a basic understanding of chords. You don't have play like Stevie Ray Vaughn or sing like Anna Nalick but hey, if you can - you're more than welcome to carry those of us who can't!
- Marty Schwartz's YouTube Channel - I'd have to say one of THE BEST online, free instructors out there is a fellow named Marty Schwartz off of YouTube.com and affiliated with Guitarjamz.com. Not only is he hilarious, but he has the ability to connect with anyone in any genre of music. I would highly recommend you check him out online and see for yourself why his videos get millions of views.
Graphic Design Links
- Adobe- The makers of Photoshop®, Illustrator®, Flash® and Acrobat® software packages among many others - oh and pretty much the whole World Wide Web...so if you haven't heard about them by now, check your arm for a pulse because you might be dead.
- Artrage- The makers of Artrage Studio Pro which is a stylish, intuitive painting and drawing package that makes it easy to produce natural looking artwork on your computer.
- Autodesk® - Authors of Sketchbook Pro® and Sketchbook Designer® among many other high calibre software packages that you might have heard of, you know, AutoCAD®, Maya®, 3DS Max®...ya these are the big boys. Autodesk® SketchBook® Pro paint and drawing software enables you to transform your desktop computer, laptop, or tablet PC into the ultimate sketchbook. With professional-quality sketching capabilities and an intuitive interface, even new users can be productive within minutes.
- Corel- Corel makes CorelDRAW® and Corel DESIGNER® software packages among many other incredibly useful tools. In my opinion, CorelDRAW is the best bang for the buck software package out there - am I biased? Maybe ;)
- Coreldraw.com - A community driven web site where users of the CorelDRAW® family of products, including CorelDRAW Graphics Suite and Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite get together to share and learn from other users, discover what community members create and fuel their inspiration.
- Pixels and Pints - A free local Meetup.com user group. So you push pixels do ya? Well after a hard month's work some of us choose to get together, enjoy a beer or two and scarf down some munchies in order to keep our sanity. It's always nice to kick back, relax, and talk amongst your peers who also share the passion, know the lingo and have experienced the grind. It's also a great way to drum up new business and expand your network.
